PICNIC WEEK REMINDERS
This weekend we begin setting up the campus for our picnic on Saturday morning at 7 a.m. All are welcome to come help out, it would be greatly appreciated As the week progresses, the lot and campus will become increasing difficult to navigate. Please park in the PLC/Preschool area if you need to visit or on a nearby street. Be careful as you walk the campus. Thank you!
MESSAGE FROM PICNIC CHAIRMAN TIM!
Please don’t forget about set-up and tear-down the picnic. If you can’t work at the weekend for some reason or another, we can surely use a lot of help the entire week before and on Sunday night after the picnic has ended. We will start on Saturday May 31st at 7:00am setting up the Fish Tank and moving supplies to the school breezeway from the picnic barn. Then we will be working all week from 6:00am to 3:00pm. Monday and Tuesday are our biggest workload days of the week. Please try to help on those 2 days or all if possible. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers on those days. Believe it or not but what goes up……must come down and we need all volunteers to be available for teardown on Sunday night starting immediately after the picnic ends at 7:00pm. Please consider helping when and wherever you can. Thank you in advance.
Our Music line up for this year is exciting and ready to put on a variety of music genres!
- Friday night we will have yacht rock music with “The Yacht Rockers Band” featuring Captain Joseph and the crew!
- Saturday afternoon we will have “Voices” featuring Dennis Gillam formerly GTO.
- Saturday night will be “Rea’s Creek Band” featuring Scott & Mechelle with all local band members from Granite City.
- Sunday afternoon and closing out our picnic will be “Sweetie and The Toothaches,” featuring Sweetie (Emilie) and her 7- or 8-piece swing band!
We will be having dinners on all 3 days again.
- Friday - BBQ Pork Steak featuring our impressive cooking ladies of our parish!
- Saturday - Cabbage Rolls (Pigs in the Blanket) featuring the family recipe from the Ruesing family!
- Sunday – AYCE Fried Chicken featuring our St. Elizabeth Famous recipe from famous Chef’s Jim and Lesa.
*Come out and plan to have one of your favorite meals or all three! Carry outs available. *
We also will have “free shuttle service” again this year for those of you needing assistance getting to and from your vehicles parked in our designated handicapped parking areas. Chauffers' fire up your smiles and Laughter.
I would like to personally “Thanks” all our returning chairpersons for answering the call, your continued support and commitment to our annual 3-day parish fundraiser. You are an asset to our parish family.
Volunteer sign-ups will be available before and after all masses starting on the weekends soon. Those of you who choose to sign up electronically will be able to do so on Monday evenings through Friday evenings each week. These two sign-up procedures will be available up until the start of the picnic. Thank you for signing up as early as possible to relieve the worry of our chairpersons from not being able to successfully run their booths without adequate volunteers. Check upcoming bulletins for times and dates.
We are still in search of chairpersons for the picnic, please consider helping and getting involved. These are the areas in which we need help.
Please send an email to
tcdomo@charter.net to let me know your interest. I would love to hear from you.
